About
I have created this website to give me and others like me a quick easy way to circumvent those pesky filters that seem to think that I shoudn't be browsing this forum while at work or accessing that misclassified website while at school.
It's a quick "one-size-fits-all" solution, and best of all, I made it, so I can easily tweak this or modify that to my or my users' needs.
Incidentally, if you have any suggestions, questions or comments, you can contact me here
Coming soon: YouTube support! I'll have to write a separate flv player for this because of the way YouTube (and most other streaming video services) work.
04/Jun/09 Moved to Glype, as PHPPr0xy seems to have a few issues with timeouts and is generally quite resource-hungry. Not so much as CGIPr0xy (which is an abomination), but hopefully Glype will handle the load better. YouTube support still in the works, (busy developing custom flash flvplayer).
03/Jul/09 Moved to a faster host -- prx.bradsburgers.com (getting around 200k hits a day). Still running glype for popular sites but phppr0xy is back for general use, though it still seems a bit buggy so I might have to migrate fully to Glype. Updated the main url entry form a bit to look a bit more spiffy. Todo: implement stats & dynamic pages via sql. Holding back on the YouTube support a bit as it'll probably triple bandwidth requirements...
21/Aug/09 Added url rewriting to parts of the site for SEO, and working on the user registration system, along with a few potential (related) monetising schemes, since Google Adsense is a slow business... YouTube support disabled for the time being.
04/Dec/09 Finished rewriting PHPr0xy to be more OOP and less spaghetti, now supports ad replacement in proxified pages, YouTube and a few other streaming media (only for registered users), and a bunch of tweaks and bug fixes.
04/Feb/10 Backend and members functionality is up & running, including youtube support, ad filtering, etc. A few bugs to iron out still, but I'm rather busy with IRL (university), so I'll tackle those when I do. Todo: merge this page with a status-blog, and tie the notice system into the most recent post.
